or casualties. >> we have breaking news from a chemical explosion on the uc davis campus has injured one person. police say a junior researcher was injured this morning in a small explosion inside an apartment on campus. several units have been evacuated. investigators found chemicals in one unit. police say they do not know what the researcher was doing. new this morning, a blow to boeing airlines that fly the new boeing 787 dreamliner which were grounded overnight. they had to scramble to rebook thousands. unite was the only carrier in the united states to book the plane, airlines in india, and qatar, and japan and ethiopia have grounded the jets. the dreamliners were ground over flaws that could cause fires. officials are investigating battery-related problems following the emergency landing of an ana dreamliner in japan on tuesday. now the airline has put on hold the service to san jose that launched only last week. >> it is one of the most bizarre stories to hit sporting world in years. an all american football player is the victim of a cruel hoax involving a girlfriend who never existed.

in poverty. they get to u.c. berkeley where there is over 34,000 students. as you can imagine, fish out of the water there. not only the academic load but the fact this that they have to work while going to school, there is so much going on with them academically dealing with financial aid and all of that not focused on where they need to be when they leave school which is very short period of time. this is real problem at universities now. students are coming into the university and prepared for their academics but not for the professional world. >> there is a lot of stuff, it's more than just staying in school. it's about professional development and personal skills. >> it's much more than that. that is why we see, when we students identify with career that academics go up naturally. what we provide is a professional development skills like presentation skills and negotiation skills, professional writing. i had no idea when i started the program that most students didn't know how to write a letter. frequently students don't know how to shake hands. giving a pitch and knowing how to ne

,the driver was taken to a injuries, and has yet to be positively identified. the >> authorities say a u-c davis researcher who was injured in an explosion at a campus apartment thursday has been arrested. u-c davis police say 32- year-old david snyder was arrested saturday on suspicion of possessing an explosive, possessing materials with the intent to make a destructive device and possessing firearms on campus. snyder suffered hand injuries in the blast which caused only minor damage to his apartment, but forced the evacuation of about 100 people. snyder is still being treated at a hospital for his injuries. police say once he is released from the hospital, he will be booked into yolo county jail. where the trouble spots are. >> reporter: a team of researches, including experts from uc berkeley and caltrans, analyzed three weeks worth of cell phone gps data from over 350,000 people here in the bay area. it's first time a study like this has been attempted. by mapping out where and when those phones were used and comparing that to know traffic patterns, the team determined that a small number of commuters are actually causing some of the regions biggest traffic jams. they found that drivers in parts of san rafael, hayward, san ramon, dublin and san jose are all trying to commute at the same time. thats creating traffic back ups for everyone else. the team believes that by changing the driving habits of the people who live in these areas, overall commute times could be improved. for example, if the number of drivers from these spots was reduced by just 1 percent, the travel times for everyone could be shortened by up to 18 percent. turning a one hour commute, into a 50 minute trip. researchers also say that encouraging people in these areas to carpool or use public transportat
